1
Create a Free Account

Head to the Sign Up page, enter your name, email, grade level, and subjects. Takes under 60 seconds. You can also sign in with Google.

You can browse and attempt 1 paper as a guest without signing up — but create an account to save your scores.
2
Browse & Choose a Paper

Go to the Papers page. Filter by subject, grade, or medium. Click any paper card to see its details — number of questions, duration, and difficulty.

Use the search bar on the homepage to jump straight to a subject.
3
Attempt, Get Scored, Learn

Click Attempt Paper. Answer the MCQs at your own pace. When done, submit — you'll instantly see your score, which answers were correct, and a full explanation for each question.

Your score is saved automatically to your dashboard for progress tracking.
📊

After attempting papers, your dashboard shows everything in one place

A

For Teachers & Tutors

Create and publish papers

Any registered teacher can create practice papers, add MCQ questions manually, and publish them for students to attempt. Here's exactly how.

1
Register as a Teacher

Sign up and select "Teacher" as your role. Your account is reviewed and activated as a teacher account, giving you access to the Teacher Portal.

Already have a student account? Contact us to upgrade to a teacher account.
2
Open the Teacher Portal

Log in and you'll be taken directly to the Teacher Portal. From here you can create papers, view your existing papers, and see how students are performing.

3
Create a New Paper

Click "Create Paper". Fill in the paper title, subject, grade, exam type, duration, and medium. Then add your MCQ questions one by one — each with 4 options and the correct answer marked.

Add an explanation to each question — students see this after submitting. It's what makes the platform valuable.
4
Set Visibility & Publish

Choose whether the paper is public (anyone can find it) or private (only students with a direct link can access it). Hit Publish — the paper goes live immediately.

Papers can be edited after publishing. If a student is currently attempting it, edits are locked until they finish.
5
Share with Your Students

Copy the paper link from your Teacher Portal and share it directly with your students — via WhatsApp, your class group, or any other channel you use.

6
View Results

From your portal, click any paper to see how many students have attempted it, average scores, and individual results broken down by question.

Writing Good MCQ Questions

Tips for creating questions students will actually learn from

1
One clear concept per question
Each question should test a single idea. Avoid double-barrelled questions ("which of the following is true AND false") — they confuse rather than test.
2
Make all 4 options plausible
If wrong answers are obviously wrong, the question gives itself away. The best distractors are common misconceptions students actually hold.
3
Write a proper explanation
Don't just state the answer — explain WHY it's correct and why the common wrong options are wrong. This is what turns a paper into a learning tool, not just a test.
4
Preview before publishing
Use the preview button to see your paper exactly as students will see it. Check for typos, unclear wording, and that the correct answer is actually marked correctly.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is EduSpark free for students?
Yes — 100% free for students, permanently. Browsing papers, attempting them, getting scored, reviewing explanations, and tracking your progress are all free. No subscription, no credit card, no trial period.
Do I need to create an account to attempt papers?
No — you can attempt 1 paper as a guest without creating an account. After that, you'll be prompted to sign up (it's free and takes under 60 seconds). Creating an account lets you save your scores, track progress over time, and re-attempt papers.
Can I attempt a paper on my phone?
Yes. EduSpark is fully mobile-responsive and works on any device with a modern browser. No app download required.
I'm a teacher. How do I create papers?
Register for a teacher account using the Sign Up page and select the Teacher role. Once activated, you'll have access to the Teacher Portal where you can create papers, add questions, and publish them. See the For Teachers section above for a full walkthrough.
Can I edit a paper after publishing it?
Yes — you can edit published papers at any time from your Teacher Portal. However, if a student is actively attempting the paper, edits are locked until they finish (to keep their session consistent). Once all active sessions are complete, editing is re-enabled.
What is the Paper Marketplace?
The Paper Marketplace is an upcoming feature that lets teachers sell their practice papers at prices between LKR 100 and LKR 1,000. EduSpark takes a 10% commission on each sale. Students purchase papers individually and get instant access. It's currently in development — see the Pricing page for more details.
What is a Platform Contributor?
Platform Contributors are selected tutors who create papers that publish under the EduSpark brand (rather than their personal teacher account). It's ideal for tutors who want their content to reach more students with the credibility of the EduSpark name. Contact us to apply.
I found a bug or something isn't working. What should I do?
Please contact us using the Contact page and select "Bug Report / Technical Issue" from the dropdown. Describe what you were doing and what happened — screenshots help a lot. We'll look into it as quickly as possible.
